Hi everyone, My name is William Smith. I arrived at Stoneleigh Street in Oldham many years ago in middle of a cold night. I was offered a hot cup of tea which makes so much difference compared to where I was coming from. 

I soon settled in my new environment with the support of Tony and Bernie. They looked after me, helped me with new furniture, TV and bedding.

My life was all over the place prior to arriving here. A turning point came when I attended a court proceeding for fighting with a police man. Tony was so kind to have came to the court with me. The judge told me clearly that he does not want to see me back in the court otherwise I face serious consequences. Tony explained it all to me in detail and advocated on my behalf to the Judge, I was surprised that Tony was willing to stand up for me in court, he obviously believed in me and with that I changed my life round.

Today I am doing a course in English and math's, I am a volunteer at a café and busy studying on my laptop everyday. I am looking forward to our up coming journey to Preston, Blackpool and Lake district .

I am very happy here, this is my home and I am very grateful for all the support
